Domain Help

This is intended to be a simple step-by-step guide for researching and registering a domain name for your website. The domain is your website's address. For instance, this website's domain is charlotterealtyservices.com. I ahve provided popup links so you can keep this page up as a reference.

To research a domain:

Go to http://www.nameboy.com (popup link) and try their search engine...once you find a name you like, follow the steps below. Do not register your domain here, use the link provided below.

Look for domains that have some of the following:

Charlotte - Real Estate - Homes - Your Name - Anything Catchy and Easy to Spell

To purchase a domain:

1.) Go to this link:

http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=11046998 (pop up link)

2.) Near the top right corner is a text field. Type in the name of the domain you want (for example: charlotterealtyservices) and select .com from the drop down menu below it.

3.) Select the .com and .info versions of your domain and click continue near the bottom right. (.info is optional but the registration is free so why not?)

4.) You are buying the Domain Package. Click select (on the right) for the box that says Instant Domain. This should be at the top of the list.

5.) If you want to add more domains, you can click on the link in Your Cart (top right) that says more domains.

Price:

.com is $5.99 a year.
.info is free (for now)

6.) Send me any confirmation email they send you. I will also need the password that you use to setup the account and where you want the domain to go
